City & Guilds 3668 Unit 3 Structured Cabling
The City & Guilds 3668 (3667) is the industry standard qualification for fibre installation in UK, and it is also widely recognised and respected in the rest of the world.
The City & Guilds 3668 Unit 3 Structured Cabling & Enterprise Networks” covers the theory and practical skills required to install copper datacoms cabling and carry out basic testing. This new unit replaces the previous 3667 Unit 4 Internal Copper Cabling, with only minor updates to reflect recent industry developments.
The 3668 Unit 3 Structured Cabling is assessed by means of a PC based multi choice exam invigilated by Lucid staff, and a practical skills exam assessed by the course tutor.
In order to gain the full 3668 Level 2 Award in Communications Cabling , candidates must complete both unit 1 and at least one of units 2, 3 or 4.
Delegates taking the 3668 Unit 3 Structured Cabling with Lucid will also have the opportunity to take the “Level 3 Award in Copper Datacoms Cable Installation and Testing” with Open Awards, another UK licenced awarding body. The OA level 3 Award sits on top of the 4-day “City & Guilds 3668 Unit 3 Structured Cabling” course, so you actually get both qualifications for just the one 4-day course; at Lucid we have always gone beyond the syllabus requirements for the 3668 (previously 3667), and the new level 3 qualification recognises this.
Please note, all the 3668 units have been designed so they can be taken in any order. There is no requirement to complete unit 1 before starting unit 2, 3 or 4 – all the theory material required for the units 2, 3 and 4 are included in these units as well.
